Kouzin Jazz Racine Haïti
The association of Bart and Bonga, a percussionist and voodoo priest, began in New York 17 years back. They developed a rapport and interest in each other's music, two of few, who understand voodoo gave rise to modern jazz.
Jazz, mainly above-the-waist music, and voodoo, below-the-waist, are a natural complement to each other. Bart asserts voodoo music as ". . . melodic, intricate, and majestic . . . (and) it should be called Afro Caribbean classical music."
Production: Jean Baptiste Bonga aux percussions, haïtien, maître des tambours racines, NY Obed Calvair
