Here is Paste Blaze with his Kanaval 2015 - male Kap Pran Male

One aspect of the Haitian carnival that really sets it apart from other carnival celebrations in the Caribbean is that, with the country's vodou religion quite prevalent, its incorporation in the celebrations make them more than just the colorful events of revelry of the other countries. There is also a focus on the more frightening, at least to the children, the tourists, or the vodou believer, aspect of the religion. The colorful aspect began on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Ritz Kinam, when the kings and queens of carnival performed their song and dance for the prestigious guests which included members of parliament, diplomats and government officials.

Following that is the more macabre dress of the patrons of the vodou aspect as well as those telling the story of Haitian history and the influential revolution through their costumes. Detailed in the lens work of prolific photographers, the Haitian story can be told through streaks of white paint on black bodies, torn or dirty, bloody clothing, frightening masks that feature featureless faces, animal horns, and undefinable other images that stir up something different in each person. They each tell a different story and can be a quite potent sight when juxtaposed with the driving beat of the Haitian music and the single-minded eccentricity of the crowd.
