Kanaval 2016 - Se Pa Sel Haiti Ki Pa Bon - Carnaval Haiti 2016
Here is Se Pa Sel Haiti Ki Pa Bon - Carnaval Haiti 2016
Although, Haiti celebrates many carnivals throughout the year, its main carnival (Kanaval in Haitian Creole) starts on January 6th, on the twelfth day after Christmas and held over several weeks each year leading up to Mardi Gras in February. Carnival is a pre-Lent festival, a blend of local pagan and catholic traditions that announces the end of winter and welcomes the spring. A final 3 day celebration is hosted grandly in Haiti, especially in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel. These three days are known as "les trois jours gras," or, "three fat days" before the 40-day abstinence from flesh. Grand feasts are celebrated on the Sunday (Dimanche Gras), Monday (Lundi Gras) and Tuesday (Mardi Gras) before the Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of Lent and fasting.
