Michel Martelly will sing with Julio Iglesias in Dominican Republic - December 28, 2012

Haiti President Michel Martelly is all set to take center stage with his music in order to help those in need. National Palace spokesman Enrique Mari announced that Martelly will share the stage with Spanish singer Julio Iglesias during a fundraising concert in the Dominican Republic on December 28. The proceeds that will be generated by the concert at the city of La Romana will go straight to First Lady Sophia Martelly's charity.

Thisis expected to be an event out of the ordinary. On December 28, 2012, the current Haitian President Michel Martelly Will Sing With the international singer Julio Iglesias In the Dominican Republic.

Present at the charity event, will be Henry Kissinger, designers Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta.

Mari refused to say the songs that the president will sing, adding that it will be a surprise. However, he hinted the Martelly will perform one song in Spanish and another in English.

Martelly was a popular musician before he assumed presidency last year. He used to travel the world and live both in the United States and Haiti as he spread his music. Known for his nickname "Sweet Micky," Martelly rose to prominence for his compas music. However, he did not only stick to compas music but he also touched on other genres and styles. He plays the keyboards and he was one of the pioneers of the compas "new generation," which highlights smaller bands using electronic instruments and synthesizers.
