Founded in 1976 by Dadou Pasquet and his older brother Tico Pasquet, the band Magnum has garnered critical acclaim as well as some commercial success. Still, even though 'Haiti's Six-String Ambassador' has piloted Magnum Band through the years to play on local and international stages from the US to Europe, and they've recorded more than 30 albums to date, they have not seen the type of success possible from the 8 million strong Haitian Diaspora, evidenced by the fact that no artist has sold more than 100,000 copies since the launch of konpa Direck in 1955.

Dadou, born Andre Pasquet, and his brother Claude, who's esteemed as konpa music's best percussionist, have created more than just one of the longest-running, most unique sounding and emotion-stirring bands in the history of the Haitian music industry, they've created their own piece of history and a point of inspiration for future konpa musicians in particular and Haitian musicians in general.
